About KIS Tutoring
Helping students grow since 2025.
KIS Tutoring opened in April 2025 to help students strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and find success in school. An experienced educator leads every program.
Each student gets individualized instruction in reading, math, or test prep, built around how they learn and where they need support.
Our mission is to empower students through quality instruction, personalized support, and confidence-building learning experiences.
Meet the founder
The story behind KIS Tutoring LLC
My journey in tutoring began when I was just 16 years old. What started as a passion for helping others learn grew into a lifelong commitment to education and student success. After years of working in education and furthering my own education, I decided to turn that passion into something more by establishing KIS Tutoring LLC.
My professional experience and research in literacy have strengthened my understanding of the importance of building strong academic foundations and addressing students’ individual learning needs. Through KIS Tutoring LLC, I am committed to helping students strengthen their skills in Reading, Math, and Test Preparation while building the confidence they need to succeed.
For me, tutoring is more than a business. It is a passion rooted in empowering students and making a lasting impact on their educational journeys.

What parents say
Families see the difference.
“KIS Tutoring has been a breath of fresh air for our family. They have instilled a level of calm and clarity on so many different topics. They are well versed in all subject areas and support our children right where they are. We could not be happier!”
“Ms. York and her staff at KIS Tutoring Services have been a true blessing for my grandsons, Ethan and Princeton. Since working with them, we’ve seen great progress in both their confidence and academic skills. If you’re looking for a place where your child can grow and succeed, I highly recommend KIS Tutoring Services!”
“Four of my kids attend tutoring here, and we’ve had a great experience. They are patient with my children, take the time to help them understand their work, and make sure they’re getting the extra support they need. I’ve seen improvement in their schoolwork as well as their confidence, which means a lot to me as a parent. My kids actually enjoy going, and that alone says a lot!”
“We are so grateful for everyone at KIS Tutoring, especially Ms. Klarissa. From the very first day my son met Ms. Klarissa, he connected with her right away. She has shown so much patience, care, and understanding while still making sure the work gets done. Since starting, he has shown more confidence, less anxiety, and real growth in his learning. The drive from Crawfordville to Quincy is absolutely worth it.”
